Scott Langevin

Rogue Wolves is the personal website of Scott Langevin. This site serves as a professional space as well as a place for Scott to post links of interest, and provide technology discussion and tutorials.

Biography

Scott graduated in 2001 from the University of Victoria in British Columbia with a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science. Since that time he has worked as a System Consultant and Software Engineer where his area of expertise was in architecting and developing web applications particularly using the Microsoft .NET framework.

In 2006 Scott decided to return to school and received his Masters of Engineering degree in Computer Science from the University of South Carolina. He focussed his studies on service oriented computing and artificial intelligence. He is currently in the process of completing his PhD dissertation on "Knowledge representation, communication, and update in probability-based multiagent systems". His research interests are in artificial intelligence, data mining, and service oriented computing. While completing his PhD degree at the University of South Carolina, Scott has been a research member of the USC Center for Information Technology, where he has participated in several research projects.

The past two years Scott has been a research assistant with the SeniorSMART center that focuses on multidisciplinary research to foster independence for senior citizens. The research group he has been involved with is working toward the development of an automated human fall detection system using ambient sensors. See his resume for more details on his experience.

Scott has recently become a Pythonista and has been dabbling with the django web framework.
